History:
Brothers Frank and Fletcher McNey purchased the land from Bennett Farm in 1926. At the time, the land went all the way to the edge of the Dallas city limits; McCommas Blvd. The development, unlike Vickery Place, was a master-planned community. The brother built streets, sewers, and drainage. Finally, they parcelled-out the land and sold each and every parcel to individual builders. There were strict building/architectural guidelines set forth by the McNey brothers in their new development. Builders of the time chose to do many stone and brick elevations, which was common in the post-WWI era. Just like today, it is a young, active neighborhood full of bustling professionals who prefer the character of the Park Cities but without the price tag.

Greenland Hills prides itself today as the heart of M-Streets; and has a very active neighborhood association. The mix of pre-Depression era architecture combine with the modern flare of 21st Century contemporary design keeps the eye busy, and energizes the soul. One can easily see dogs, strollers and joggers regularly on a morning commute or an evening stroll under a canopy of trees. If walking to dive bars, craft kitchens, local music as well as award-winning elementary schools, then start in Greenland Hills.
